Project Three

I applied for an internship during my studies because I wanted more practical experience.

My supervisor, Santosh, needed assistance with the research phase of the design process. The project he was working on involved developing a new dating app with unique features not found in other services. Our first step was to understand the current market and identify what people need that other dating apps might lack or need to improve.

I had this internship for two months. Since I was also studying at the time, I could dedicate a few hours each week to the project and had weekly meetings with my supervisor for consultations.

Methods

First, I began with an extensive competitive analysis of other dating apps to understand the market landscape and identify common features as well as gaps.

To gain deeper insights, I also conducted several surveys among users in Sweden to find out what they appreciate about current dating apps and which ones are the most popular.

In addition to the surveys, I carried out several in-depth interviews with users to understand what their "dream" dating app would look like. These interviews provided valuable insights and creative ideas from potential users, helping us incorporate user-generated concepts into the design process. By combining competitive analysis, user surveys, and interviews, we aimed to create a more user-centered design that meets the actual needs and desires of our target audience.
